Film and Video Studies Major with a specialization in Critical Studies, B.A.

Description
The critical studies specialization explores the history, theory and criticism of film and television. Students explore not only the meanings of these texts, but also the processes by which these meanings are constructed. Students examine the role of the moving image in representing and influencing significant social, cultural, and ideological changes in America and the world and develop the skills to analyze American and international film, television and new media technologies from formal, aesthetic and historical perspectives.

Students may repeat the following variable topic courses with different topics: ENG 461, ENG 462 and ENG 463.
