Exercise science graduates use knowledge and skills to assess and improve physical status and functional abilities in both healthy and diseased populations. They enter a world where knowledge and skills related to the role of physical activity in health and disease is of ever increasing prophylactic and prescriptive importance.
Admission Requirements
Admission to Exercise Science is selective. For details on eligibility for admission, please see individual programs below, paying special attention to pre-admission requirements.
Students must be admitted to the exercise science major prior to enrolling in 300 and above level EXSC classes and a “C” or better grade is required for all courses in major and minor programs.
Bachelor of Science
Exercise Science (General)
The bachelor of science – exercise science general program prepares student to enter career areas where exercise is an integral part of general health and human performance. Such areas include corporate health-wellness, private health-fitness clubs, diverse non-profit fitness-wellness agencies such as YMCA’s, and athletic performance including strength and conditioning.
