The MS-IT Management program features a common core curriculum and five specialization areas:
IT Leadership and Strategic Innovation: Focuses on advanced IT management, leadership, and innovation. Emphasizes strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and sustainable IT practices. Prepares students for roles in organizational development, global IT management, and cybersecurity.
Cybersecurity Management: Prepares leaders of cybersecurity teams, covering policy and legal issues, risk management, continuity planning, and IT security. Aligns with core knowledge areas recommended by the National Security Administration, International Standards Organization, and International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.
Sustainable IT: Addresses the evolving demands on ICT professionals. Focuses on practices and technologies that reduce the environmental impact of IT systems. Emphasizes skills in social informatics, data analysis, AI, and real-time decision-making. Equips students to implement triple bottom line economics through systems thinking, regulatory changes, industry guidance, and AI tools.
Structures of Data Analytics: Incorporates data mining, data analysis, and data visualization into organizational decision-making. Program Description
The MS-IT Management program is facilitated by a program coordinator from the IT Management department who is dedicated to working with graduate students and their direct advisors in planning for courses of study. The program is delivered at the CWU Ellensburg campus or 100% online dependent upon university guidelines. Applicants must meet the requirements of acceptance to CWU School of Graduate Studies and Research.
