Art BFA, Studio Art Specialization

The Bachelor of Fine Arts, studio art specialization is a comprehensive studio art degree for students desiring to pursue studio art-related careers or seeking artistic enrichment. The degree can be directed toward either a discipline-specific studio art practice or a cross-disciplinary and/or cross-media studio art practice.

Program Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

• Analyze works of art and design in various global contexts from the prehistoric era to the present.
• Effectively use a wide range of technical skills in the production of work contextualized within historical and contemporary visual arts.
• Participate in collaborative and team-led projects and activities.
• Create artwork at an advanced level of expertise.
• Organize student-led exhibitions of work both on campus and in the community.
• Produce a professional packet that includes a resume, artist statement, and professional documentation of artistic work.
• Establish professional networks and contacts at the local level or above.
