The CWU Literacy Coaching Graduate Certificate is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, practices, and processes of classroom teachers and instructional leaders as they mentor teachers and paraprofessionals in their school settings. The goal of the program is to improve instructional practices and student achievement in PK-Gr12 settings.
This 15-credit graduate certificate is a post-master program. All courses are offered online with candidates completing the practical portion of the course in their site settings. Program content is aligned with the ILA Professional Standards.

Admission Requirements
All candidates must possess three years of teaching experience, and a master’s degree in Literacy, OR a master’s degree with a reading endorsement, OR National Board Certification in Literacy at entrance. Verification of this requirement is required when applying to the program.
Graduation Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete all courses with a minimum “B” grade.
