WINE 489 - Wine Studies Capstone Description: This capstone course engages students in upper-level wine industry practices. Students will demonstrate and apply their knowledge and competency in wine theory, professional wine analysis, professional wine service and the business of wine.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: wine studies major and senior standing.
Credits: (1) Contact Hours: 1
Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate expertise in wine regions, grape varietals, viticulture and enology, wine laws and regulations, distribution system structures and current issues in wine.
- Develop and present a professional portfolio showcasing skills and knowledge for entry into the wine industry.
- Analyze contemporary issues and problems in the wine industry
