This course bridges language acquisition theories, research, and classroom practice. Students will plan lessons, develop language-learning material, and practice pedagogical approaches using the most recent instructional designs in the field.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Synthesize main works and theories in second language teaching and learning.
Criticize and problematize teaching theories that do not reflect current student bodies in public education.
Plan teaching approaches to selected topics on second language teaching and learning based on learner’s needs.
Assess and appraise the impact of teaching materials and approaches on the student’s language learning.
Create language activities for specific purposes and plan thematic language lessons
