WLC 485 - Sociolinguistics of Language Education Description: This course examines the principles of sociolinguistics, social justice, and critical language awareness and applies them to language teaching and learning among diverse language learner communities.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Assess the impact that social context has in language teaching and learning.
- Examine and evaluate teaching pedagogies for World languages, heritage languages, and indigenous languages.
- Design language learning activities that Integrate the principles of Sociolinguistics, Social Justice, and Critical Language Awareness into language learning materials.
- Decide and justify teaching models and pedagogies applied to specific language learners’ needs.
- Generate a language curriculum for social justice.
