Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyze how fashion, dress, and frameworks for viewing the body and beauty standards serve as forms of communication, reflecting and reinforcing cultural standards and ideals.
- Examine the roles that dress and appearance play in shaping identity and influencing self-presentation.
- Research and explain issues related to global fashion and dress within complex frameworks, including cultural, aesthetic, racial, gender, and communicative contexts.
- Research and discuss fashion and dress using a conceptual framework based on existing theories.
- Apply critical thinking skills and lead discussion relative to diverse perspectives, the body, and dress.
