EDBL 471 - Capstone (Bilingual)

Description:
Teacher candidates will explore interdisciplinary instruction and design standards-based unit plans that incorporate best teaching practices in bilingual teaching assignments.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: SPAN 360 with a grade of C or higher; Co-requisite: EDBL 492 or ELEM 494 or ELEF 495.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

identify, evaluate and utilize teaching materials effectively for a diverse range of learners in a dual language environment,
describe and embed effective pedagogical strategies for instruction, particularly in the areas of assessment, differentiation, questioning, and supporting students in encountering, acquiring and using both academic languages, and
identify and propose modifications to inequities for those involved in dual language school communities.
