EDBL 471 - Capstone (Bilingual) Description: Teacher candidates will explore interdisciplinary instruction and design standards-based unit plans that incorporate best teaching practices in bilingual teaching assignments.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: SPAN 360 with a grade of C or higher; Co-requisite: EDBL 492 or ELEM 494 or ELEF 495.
Credits: (2) Contact Hours: 2
Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- identify, evaluate and utilize teaching materials effectively for a diverse range of learners in a dual language environment,
- describe and embed effective pedagogical strategies for instruction, particularly in the areas of assessment, differentiation, questioning, and supporting students in encountering, acquiring and using both academic languages, and
- identify and propose modifications to inequities for those involved in dual language school communities.
