EDBL 454 - Dual Language Methods: Science Description: Designed to prepare prospective teachers to teach the sciences to students in two languages. Methods, approaches, and techniques, along with appropriate materials, will be covered.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: SPAN 360 with a grade of C or higher.
Credits: (2) Contact Hours: 2
Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- develop a science lesson plan unit a) with translanguaging structure; b) employing research-based bilingual strategies; c) using authentic bilingual curriculum materials,
- demonstrate the relationship between content and ELL standards, lesson outcomes, and assessment procedures, and
- identify and apply sheltering techniques in both languages.
