EDBL 331 - Foundations of Biliteracy in Dual Language Classrooms Description: Designed to prepare prospective teachers to develop the literacy of students in two languages. Processes and products of the literacy/biliteracy acts, methods and materials, and factors that impact biliteracy are covered.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: SPAN 360 with a grade of C or higher.
Credits: (3) Contact Hours: 3
Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- document the integrated development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing as components of the process of literacy,
- demonstrate the theories of literacy development in native and partner language,
- compare and contrast effective teaching and learning methods of literacy development in English and partner language.
