EDBL 331 - Foundations of Biliteracy in Dual Language Classrooms

Description:
Designed to prepare prospective teachers to develop the literacy of students in two languages. Processes and products of the literacy/biliteracy acts, methods and materials, and factors that impact biliteracy are covered.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: SPAN 360 with a grade of C or higher.

Credits: (3) Contact Hours: 3

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

document the integrated development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing as components of the process of literacy,
demonstrate the theories of literacy development in native and partner language,
compare and contrast effective teaching and learning methods of literacy development in English and partner language.
