EDU 589 - Portfolio


Description:
An end-of-program course. Portfolio development, presentation, and defense of student-curated artifacts, tied to program standards. Contents include candidate, and student work samples, as well as reflections. Grade will either be S or U. Permission by department.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: EDU 574 and EDU 584.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • assemble a portfolio of their own work samples, as well as those of their students, tied to each of the program standards;
  • clearly and effectively reflect on each of their artifacts, explaining how they serve as evidence of meeting the respective standards;
  • present and defend an online portfolio representing culminating work in an MAT program;
  • discuss their process of assembling the portfolio, and how the program standards represent the many facets of an effective teacher, commenting on their personal growth and future plans for professional development.
