IT 657 - Strategic IT Security Description: Provides a comprehensive view of information security policies and frameworks form the raw organizational mechanics of building to the psychology of implementation. Presents an effective balance between technical knowledge and soft skills.
Prerequisites: Co- or prerequisite: ADMG 501 or admission to an IT Management Department Graduate Certificate Program.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Assess the purpose and business implications of information systems security policy management, including U.S. compliance laws and policy requirements.
- Evaluate the business challenges of different IT security policy frameworks, critiquing their approaches to IT infrastructure security.
- Synthesize knowledge to design, organize, implement, and maintain robust IT security policies.
- Develop and assess the effectiveness of comprehensive data classification, handling, and risk management, and incident response team (IRT) policies.
- Examine the role of IT policy compliance systems and emerging technologies in maintaining security standards.
