ETSC 512 - Alternative Energy Systems Description: Study of alternative energy technology and their societal issues. Course provides students with skills necessary to be a successful technical manager in the energy systems sector. Survey of Solar, Wind, Tidal, Geothermal, Biomass energy systems. Formerly IET 512, students may not receive credit for both.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Outline the practical aspects of alternative energy systems.
Evaluate the technical, geopolitical, economic, and environmental aspects of energy resources and its conversion to other useful forms.
Examine the terminology in the energy conversion technical field so that they may read energy literature with understanding.
Become a better informed citizen able to support discussions dealing with energy issues in a leadership position.
