EDF 503 - Educational Philosophy and Foundations

Various philosophic positions which lead to an understanding of the educational enterprise. EDF 503 and PHIL 503 are cross-listed courses; students may not receive credit for both.

Prerequisite: admission to the Master Teacher Program.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Explain and analyze the views of the major philosophers with respect to education. Analyze and synthesize the major influences on these philosophers. Categorize and interpret the history of contemporary educational issues tracing them to their philosophical roots.
