Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyze and summarize diverse perspectives of the concept of literacy.
- Justify the application of linguistic theory and research for the methodologies being used for literacy development in a new language.
- Describe research-based methods and techniques that foster the literacy development of linguistically diverse learners.
- Select, adapt, and develop appropriate materials and instructional sequences.
- Describe and conduct procedures and methods appropriate to the assessment of linguistically diverse readers and writers.
