CDFS 502 - Statistics


Description:
Introduction to the statistics in social sciences. Topics include conducting analyses relevant to family and child life research using computer software, evaluating the results of statistical analyses, and drawing appropriate conclusions. CDFS 502 and CTE 502 are equivalent courses; students may receive credit for only one course. Formerly FCL, students may not receive credit for both.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Identify the role of statistics in the research process and hypothesis testing. Determine the appropriate statistical analyses based on research hypotheses. Conduct statistical analyses using statistical software. Understand and interpret output from statistical analyses. Evaluate the results of statistical analyses to draw appropriate conclusions about research hypotheses.
