BIOL 565 - Advanced Animal Behavior


Description:
Advanced knowledge in the study of animal behavior. Three hours lecture, two hours laboratory, one hour independent study per week. BIOL 465, BIOL 565 and PSY 565 are cross-listed courses; students may not receive credit for more than one.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Acquire a firm knowledge base about fundamental concepts and processes in the study of animal behavior. Develop skills to analyze and interpret common behavioral phenomena from an interdisciplinary point of view. Develop essential skills to design, conduct, and report research projects in the study of animal behavior. Demonstrate the ability to relate the knowledge of animal behavior to real-world issues such as animal conservation, decision making, cooperation, favoritism, and why we do what we do as humans. Build cognitive skills in analysis, integration, and critical thinking on hypotheses, theories, and research projects in the study of animal behavior
