ART 479 - Methods and Theories of Art History Description: An introduction to the methodology of art history and critical modes of scholarly inquiry in the visual arts, including the role of historical research.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: ART 414.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Organize and synthesize evidence to support an original argument.
- Develop a focused argument, addressing divergent stances on the topic.
- Write a research paper that integrates history, formal analysis, and contemporary scholarship in order to develop original scholarship.
