ABS 360 - Black Women and Gender Studies Description: This course offers an interdisciplinary, intersectional examination of the interconnected struggles and identities of Black women in the African diaspora. Course may be repeated under a different subtitle for up to 10 credits. ABS 360 and WGSS 360 are cross-listed courses.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify and explain the varied and interconnected realities of black women’s lives within a specified topic in Black women’s studies.
- Describe key works of feminist research, scholarly and creative writing, art, music, and films within a specified topic in Black women’s studies.
- Apply intersectional issues to a specified topic in Black women’s studies to reveal the systems of overlapping oppression impacting Black women’s lived experiences.
- Analyze a specified topic in Black women’s studies by applying theoretical and historical concepts particularly attuned to Black feminist or womanist theory.
- Engage in scholarly discussion about a specified topic in Black women’s studies and the diverse critiques and strategies of resistance employed by Black women against oppressive forces and ideologies.
