AVM 270 - Aviation Data Analysis

Description:
Managers of an airline, airport, or other aviation organizations must understand data-driven decision-making. In this course, students will be introduced to mathematical analytical techniques using aviation-specific data for managerial decision-making.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Analyze passenger and cargo data pertinent to selected airports and airlines
Calculate airline On-time performance and delay causes.
Calculate airline load factors.
Interpret Aviation System Performance Metrics (ASPM) including airport efficiency, city-pair en route, individual flights, and flight cancellations (FAA).
Interpret airline service quality performance data (FAA).
Calculate minimum connecting times at airports.
Employ United States Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) statistics to analyze air travel consumer reports, air transportation economic trends, cost of air transportation, and air carrier traffic and capacity.
