ART 217 - Art Beyond the West, 1804 to 1992 Description: A historical survey of the art of the non-western world in the modern era.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: ART 216.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Recognize major works of art by identifying artists, periods, national origins, titles and/or subject matter, and their significance to the history of art.
- Describe the formal elements of various works of art.
- Identify how works of art express the ideals and values of their respective civilizations and historical periods.
- Demonstrate a comprehension of the basic developments in the history of art during the modern era.
- Use the terminology of art history.
