Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Recognize major works of art by identifying artists, periods, national origins, titles and/or subject matter, and their significance to the history of art.
Describe the formal elements of various works of art.
Identify how works of art express the ideals and values of their respective civilizations and historical periods.
Demonstrate a comprehension of the basic developments in the history of art during the modern era.
Use the terminology of art history.
