ANTH 408 - Bioarchaeology Description: Advanced reading, discussion, and application of foundational theories underpinning bioarchaeological practices. Meets anthropology subfield Biological Anthropology (B) and Seminar (S).
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: ANTH 110 or permission of instructor.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Formulate a bioarchaeological research project design with a theoretical underpinning.
- Summarize the various different theoretical approaches to bioarchaeology and be able to apply them to different case studies
- Apply the biocultural technique to case studies to identify both cultural and biological buffers and stressors
- Examine theories and interpret data in a bioarchaeological context
- Develop competence in research, writing, oral, and critical thinking skills.
- Evaluate the different aspects of bioarchaeological data.
