AST 350 - Korea Now Description: Provides a multi-faceted view of topics concerning contemporary Korea. Weekly thematic topics will be introduced. Discussions are enhanced through the use of diverse materials: art, film, music, literature, manhwa, newspapers, official documents, and secondary analysis.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Examine and evaluate ideas and arguments concerning political, social, and cultural issues in the Korean Peninsula since the 20th century.
- Analyze and synthesize various types of primary and secondary sources in order to put forward well-supported arguments concerning contemporary Korea
- Write clear essays and present clear arguments concerning issues concerning contemporary Korea
- Outline and summarize key events, places, persons, movements, and concepts in understanding Korean Society and Culture
