GPD 441 - Secondary Instruction in Sewing and Textiles Description: This course will prepare you with skills for the basics of teaching sewing in a classroom through safety procedures, fabric choice, deciphering patterns, sewing tools and equipment, and applying skills to construct projects and/or garments. Instructor permission.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Determine safety procedures for sewing in the classroom
- Identify sewing equipment and academic vocabulary
- Describe fabric types and importance in design industry
- Demonstrate hand sewing
- Identify and using your sewing machine
- Distinguish pattern codes, adjustments, and layout.
- Demonstrate sewing projects
- Explore careers in sewing and fashion industry
