ANTH 443 - Methods in Sociocultural Research Description: Introduction to sociocultural research methods in the framework of Rapid Ethnographic Assessment. Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of key concepts, principles, and methods of sociocultural research and Rapid Ethnographic Assessment.
- Propose appropriate methods and sampling strategies for data collection.
- Prepare interview questions; practice conducting, transcribing and coding interviews.
- Plan and practice ethnographic observation and mapping.
- Analyze qualitative data thematically.
- Evaluate ethical issues in sociocultural research.
