EMS 445 - Advanced 12 Lead Cardiology Description: Advanced 12 lead cardiology is designed to give a better understanding of vectors, lead placement, myocardial infarctions and warning signs, precursors to cardiac emergencies, understanding the imitators of Myocardial Infarctions and more. By department permission.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: admission to the EMS Paramedicine major and EMS 444.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Interpret 12 leads in the field or clinic setting.
- Have an understanding and ability to differentiate imitators or foolers from true myocardial infarctions on 12 leads.
- Demonstrate an understanding of vectors and lead placement.
- Identify myocardial infarctions, warning signs and precursors to cardiac emergencies.
- Demonstrate an understanding of coronary occlusions and how they present on 12 leads.
