CDFS 345 - Advanced Concepts in Child Development Description: This course examines advanced topics in child development. Students will increase expertise in and application of child development from an empirical and culturally sensitive perspective.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: CDFS 232 or instructor permission.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Summarize theoretical influences and empirical findings related to child development from birth through middle childhood.
- Analyze and articulate advanced concepts relating to cognitive, social, emotional, and identity development.
- Critically assess how sociocultural factors directly impact the lives of children and families.
- Identify adaptive strategies that develop in children and caregivers as a result of social, ecological, and cultural influences.
- Analyze and articulate strategies to assess, communicate with, and adapt support, education, and advocacy for children and families at various stages of development.
