ELEM 493 - Competency Development and Differentiation Description: An opportunity for education students to identify differentiation practices and contextualize competency development related to content areas. Students will consider approaches to differentiation with diverse learners and recognize ways to assess quality of practices.
Prerequisites: Prerequisites: full admission to the Teacher Certification Program.
Credits: (2) Contact Hours: 6
Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify differentiation practices that address accommodation.
- Identify differentiation practices that address diverse linguistic development.
- Identify differentiation practices that address diverse physical abilities.
- Identify differentiation practices that address specialized health needs or considerations.
- Apply differentiation practices in context.
- Implement classroom management strategies.
