ASP 485 - Accessibility and Disability Studies Capstone Description: Culminating experience for Accessibility and Disability Studies programs. The research project applies the knowledge base to a real world setting and includes scholarly report and presentation, public service announcement. Culminating exam and exit interview. Requires permission of instructor. Enrollment permission contingent on demonstrated research methods proficiency. ASP 485 and ASP 585 are layered courses; students may not receive credit for both.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: successful completion of a Gen Ed Academic Writing II course. Co- or prerequisite: ASP 305 and ASP 325 and ASP 435.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- investigate real-world scenario for high-incidence accessibility issues,
- analyze real-world scenarios for compliance with accessibility laws and policies,
- design a solution to improve accessibility in a realistic context for realistic people with high incidence disabilities,
- produce a portfolio of evidence demonstrating competence to analyze accessibility issues and recommend solutions compliant with standards appropriate to the context, and
- demonstrate clear communication strategies and techniques in oral and/or written form.
