ASP 435 - Accessible Information Design Description: Standards for creating structured information to support accessibility. Research and theories of accessible information. ASP 435 and ASP 535 are layered courses; a student may not receive credit for both.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: (Academic Writing II OR CWU TOEFL score required by CWU for undergraduate study by international students) AND (ASP 305 OR permission of instructor).

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- explain the importance of accessible communication for safety and inclusion;
- identify common barriers to inclusive information in terms of content, medium, and technology;
- define and apply guidelines for accessible information, such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG);
- assess technological applications used for making information equitably accessible for people with disabilities;
- outline stakeholder responsibilities and interactions when planning and developing communication products for accessibility; and
- analyze rhetorical implications of accessible information design.
