ART 172 - Computer Fundamentals in Art and Design Description: Introduces the use of digital media from the artist/designer’s perspective, for the purpose of facilitation and creating works of art and design. Covering basic skills in computer literacy, MAC OS and the Adobe Creative Suite. Class meets five hours per week.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence with basic computer literacy and the Macintosh Operating System
- Demonstrate understanding of file formats, resolution, image transfer and the image requirements for various forms of publication/promulgation of images
- Solve basic digital image editing and retouching problems
- Solve basic graphic illustration and design problems
- Utilize software suites such as Illustrator and Photoshop to create original artworks
- Prepare and present artwork using presentation software
