AVM 430 - Aviation Marketing


Description:
The course examines the principles of marketing with an emphasis on the aviation industry. Students will learn to evaluate how various marketing strategies align and increase an aviation product or service value chain.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: AVM 335.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Describe and explain basic marketing principles and techniques for an aviation business.
  • Identify and define market segments and target customers pertinent to various aviation industries.
  • Explain the use of integrated marketing communication (IMC) to support marketing strategies in the aviation industry.
  • Apply market information/research output to assess consumer behavior to increase an aviation product or service value chain.
  • Analyze the theories and models that are relevant to formulation of marketing strategies in aviation businesses.
  • Summarize strategies for inclusive advertising, brand management, social media use in marketing, and other promotional policies/techniques that are used in aviation businesses.
  • Evaluate the theory of product analysis and its application to the aviation industry.
  • Evaluate the building blocks in airline pricing policy and hypothesize or predict the future of marketing in aviation businesses not limited to airport/airlines.
