IT 248 - Foundations of Digital Environments Description: Examines the role of digital environments in our daily lives and the global impact digital environments have on social processes. Students will develop skills to critically evaluate design practices in digital environments.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- describe how digital environments contribute to our lives and create value through designed interaction and engagement,
- analyze underlying global, national, local, and personal issues that arise from the prolific use of digital environments for social activities and the dissemination of information,
- explain the ethical implications of technological advancements and the impact of digital environments on social processes and issues,
- determine the credibility of information sources in order to prepare local and remote assets for use in a digital environment prototype, and
- apply qualitative reasoning and quantitative statistical analysis to identify, and provide solutions for, potential problems with current design practices in digital environments.
