ETS 354 - Minority Experience Description: Exploration of prejudice, discrimination, and institutional racism common to the history and character of American minorities. SOC 354 and ETS 354 are cross-listed courses; students may not receive credit for both.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- gain, improve, and practice critical thinking skills,
- explain issues of race and of groups that have historically constituted minority groups in American history,
- articulate application of the social construction of race concept,
- give examples of social and economic consequences of race,
- apply theoretical perspectives to real life events and processes,
- ADI: define key concepts in relation to the study of Antiracism, Diversity, and inclusivity including antiracism, racism, race, ethnicity, discrimination, privilege, diversity, equity, inclusivity, and intersectionality,
- ADI: analyze the role of race, racism, and antiracism in the Unites States,
- ADI: describe intersections between race and ethnicity and other minoritized identities,
- ADI: explain systematic and structural mechanisms that perpetuate both privilege and inequities, and
- ADI: compare and contrast their own core values, assumptions, and biases with those held by other individuals, cultures, or societies.
