ENG 492 - Practicum


Description:
Practicum accompanying training in writing pedagogy. Students connect teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to current research and practice and apply ELA competencies to specific learning situations. Course requires liability insurance and current WSP/FBI fingerprints that do not expire before end of quarter. Grade will either be S or U.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: 28 credits of ENG courses and full admission to the Teacher Certification Program.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • apply research-based instructional strategies and assessments to assess learning and plan instruction,
  • apply a respectful disposition for the worth and contributions of all learners,
  • evaluate their practicum performance and experience through reflection,
  • evaluate their participation in classroom activities and attitude toward practicum opportunities that conveys a desire to achieve professional competence through continuous learning and growth and completion of all practicum responsibilities, and
  • connect teaching and learning strategies to current theory, research, and practice.
