EMS 250 - Emergency Medical Technician Lecture Description: This course provides the didactic instruction in basic life support in accordance with the National EMS Education Standards. A minimum score of 83% is required for certification recommendation. Attendance in all sessions is expected. By instructor permission.
Prerequisites: Co-requisite: EMS 250LAB.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate a thorough knowledge of basic life support;
- demonstrate practical skills related to treatment of the emergency medical patient;
- demonstrate practical skills related to treatment of the emergency trauma patient;
- demonstrate critical thinking skills in the clinical care and treatment of patients;
- demonstrate a “patient-centric” approach to work as an EMT; and
- successfully complete both NREMT Cognitive and Psychomotor Assessments.
