Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify moral issues and ethical dilemmas involving communications and media.
  • Describe various approaches used to solve or resolve ethical dilemmas involving communications and media.
  • Apply a model of moral reasoning (e.g. the ”SAD” process used to solve or resolve ethical issues).
  • Examine the historical, economic, political, and societal context for the ethical issues they must resolve with analysis.
  • Interpret various codes of ethics as they apply to specific professions within the communication field.
