AVP 222 - Aircraft Systems - Complex

Description:
This course is a continuation of AVP 221 and introduces students to the systems of complex aircraft. Formerly AVP 322; students may not receive credit for both.

Prerequisite: AVP 221.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Compare and contrast various aircraft powerplants, including theory, components and operation
Describe the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex propeller systems
Describe the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fuel and fuel injection systems
Compare and Contrast differences between normally aspirated, supercharging, and turbo charging
Describe pressurization and high altitude operations
Describe hydraulic and pneumatic systems for deicing/anti-icing aircraft
Compare and contrast various types of complex aircraft structures and flight controls
Describe turbine engine design and operation
