ART 235 - History of World Art I Description: A historical survey of the development of world art and architecture from prehistory to 1400.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- recognize major works of art by identifying cultures, periods, national origins, titles and/or subject matter, and their significance to the history of art,
- describe the formal and symbolic elements of various works of art,
- discuss how works of art express the ideals and values of their respective civilizations and historical periods,
- describe basic developments in the history of art before 1400, and
- use the terminology of art history.
