ACCT 462 - Computer Auditing


Description:
Introduces students to the latest technologies used in auditing. Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Robotic process Automation, and Machine Learning tools will provide students with a current perspective on automation trends toward continuous audit.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: ACCT 455 with a grade of C or higher.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Examine the current nature and scope of the auditing profession including Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Evaluate the purpose of use of audit data standards 
  • Evaluate the use of machine learning, and data analytics tools in auditing
  • Apply computer assisted audit techniques using generalized audit software 
  • Analyze the principles of continuous monitoring and auditing
