ACCT 310 - Career Planning for the Accounting Professional


Description:
This course helps accounting students with determining the accounting career path best suited for their abilities, goals and needs and to provide them with the skills needed to create an effective career plan and strategy.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: admission to the accounting pre-major, minor, or major or permission of the instructor.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  •  Identify potential accounting careers, including the educational requirements, certifications and licenses required for each.
  •  Recognize the most common accounting credentials and identify the requirements to obtain them.
  • Develop and implement an accounting career map (e.g., personalized schedule of activities required to achieve their career objectives).
  • Acquire accounting industry knowledge and experience interacting with accounting professionals.
