SHM 301 - Fundamentals of Safety and Health Management Description: This course covers the fundamental aspects of safety and health, applicable standards, risk management, performance metrics, hazard recognition/controls, industrial hygiene, environmental management, fire safety, systems safety, ergonomics, hazardous materials, fleet safety, emergency management, and accident investigation. Two lecture and two lab hours. Course will be offered every year (Fall).
Prerequisites: Prerequisite: admission to the safety and health management major, safety and health management minor, or occupational safety technology minor, or by permission.
