Description:
Major legal issues confronting educators, including students and teacher rights, due process, torts, and the identification and reporting of child abuse.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: EFC 340 and admission to the Teacher Certification Program.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of state and federal laws related to educational practice as these impact school and classroom rights and responsibilities.
Recognize the symptoms of child abuse, and understand reporting requirements.
