History Program Learner Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • identify and describe issues and events in history;
  • analyze primary and/or secondary sources;
  • evaluate arguments and/or evidence related to history (critical thinking);
  • develop valid evidence-based arguments related to history;
  • write effectively, constructing responses and essays that use correct grammar, effective sentence structure, and appropriate and complex language; and
  • explain cultural differences and diverse perspectives.
