History Program Learner Outcomes


Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Identify and describe issues and events in history.
  • Analyze primary and/or secondary sources
  • Evaluate arguments and/or evidence related to history (critical thinking)
  • Develop valid evidence-based arguments related to history
  • Write effectively, constructing responses and essays that use correct grammar, effective sentence structure, and appropriate and complex language.
  • Explain cultural differences and diverse perspectives
