Science Education - Elementary Education Minor

Admission to this minor is limited to students majoring in elementary education, early childhood education or special education. This minor does not lead to endorsement as a specialized science teacher.
There are three main goals for this minor. Students who complete this minor will:
- develop a deeper understanding of the earth, life and physical sciences;
- build an appreciation for the variety of methods in different fields of science; and
- acquire skills and knowledge leading to quality teaching of a variety of science subjects.

Required Courses
- Three lower division science course with labs (select a course from three of the following five areas: biology,chemistry, physics, earth science, and astronomy) Credits: 13 to 15
