COM 455 - Rhetorical Criticism Description: Practical approaches to rhetoric that value contingency, invention, and judgment. Application of criticism methods as ways to engage cultural, political, and social issues through the lens of rhetoric.

Learner Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Examine rhetorical devices used in everyday life.
- Interpret various symbolic acts as subjects of criticism.
- Analyze rhetorical artifacts through a variety of approaches in rhetorical criticism.
- Originate rhetorical critiques to perform active citizenship.
- Justify positions based on well-informed evaluation of symbolic acts.
