CMGT 201 - Computer Applications in Construction with Laboratory


Description:
Introduction to the use of innovative technologies, computer-based management and construction principles to manage construction projects. Two hours of lecture and two hours of lab per week. Permission by instructor. 

Prerequisites:
Prerequisite: CMGT 101.

Learner Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Apply electronic-based technology to manage the construction process. Students will be able to create effective electronic documents through the application of computers for the planning and management of construction projects. (ACCE SLO # 10 - DA)
  • Apply technology-based equipment on a simulated construction project to plan and manage construction projects. (ACCE SLO # 10 - DA)
  • Apply building information modeling (BIM) applications for planning and managing construction projects. (ACCE SLO # 10 - DA)
  • Apply electronic-based technology like BLUEBEAM, Procore, HCSS, and other cloud based construction software to effectively manage the construction process and documents in the office and on the jobsite. (ACCE SLO # 10 - DA)
